FFXIV has many ways to make money, but some methods can be more lucrative than others. Gathering can be one of the best methods for Gil making, especially at the start of a new patch when rare materials sell well, or through FATEs and side content such as Eureka.
This guide will cover six or seven of the best ways to make gil in FFXIV. These include completing MSQ, deciphering Treasure Maps, and running Daily Roulettes.
Diadem Materials
While a good amount of the game’s currency can be found through combat, the best ways to make gil in FFXIV involve crafting and gathering. Whether you are a Miner, Botanist, Weaver or Alchemist, there’s a lot of Gil to be made in these Jobs by completing missions, selling items and slaying mobs.
Unlike the Heavensward version, Diadem isn’t a PVE instance with hyper-specific rewards (though we wish it was). Instead it’s a gatherer’s paradise where players can chip away at stone pillars and slay monsters without fear of being attacked by other players. The Aetheromatic Auger (think Spartan Laser Cannon) helps make the job even easier.
Once players exit the Diadem, they should visit Flotpassant at one of the Firmament booths (X:10.8, Y:14.0) to have their gathered materials approved. Doing so will give them Skybuilders Scrips which can be exchanged for an assortment of exclusive rewards. Inspected materials can also be sold on the Market Board and used for crafting.
Treasure Maps
A player can earn gil from the in-game market, by completing quests, selling items (especially those that they made themselves if they’re a crafter or gatherer Job like Blacksmith, Weaver or Alchemist), slaying foes and completing dungeons and challenges. The latter are often a good source of Gil as they provide highly sought after gear, furniture and consumables that sell for high prices when they reach the Auction House.
Treasure Maps are another way to earn a lot of Gil, especially after completing the level 36 quest “Treasures and Tribulations.” These can be purchased on the Market Board or earned by finishing the corresponding Quest in Eastern Lenocia. Each Treasure Map spawns a horde of trash enemies that need to be killed to unlock a chest of rewards including a pinch of raw Gil for each party member, Allagan Tomestones and some crafting materials or Materia to sell on the Auction House. There is also a chance that some maps will spawn a portal that can be entered for additional rewards, such as new gear.
GC Seals
One of the most effective ways to make gil in fastest way to make gil ffxiv is by turning Grand Company Seals into Gil. However, this method requires some business knowledge and clever conversion techniques.
The Grand Companies are always in need of supplies. They request various items each day and players can earn GC Seals by crafting or gathering those supplies and turning them in to the Grand Company officers.
This is especially profitable for high-level crafters as the rewards are highly sought after gear, furniture and consumables. Furthermore, ranking up with the Grand Company allows a player to hold more company seals at a time and unlock valuable functions like Expert Deliveries and Adventurer Squadrons.
Another popular method of earning gil is flipping prisms on the market board. While this won’t yield huge amounts of money, it is an easy way to quickly turn a few thousand gil into a few hundred. A free community tool called Universalis can also allow a player to browse the market board of any server without even having to log in.

As any gamer will tell you, having enough Gil in FFXIV is a good thing. It makes it easy to buy gear and items for your character, as well as to upgrade the furniture in your house or apartment. With that in mind, knowing how to make gil in FFXIV is always useful and can help you reach your end-game goals faster.
Getting Gil in FFXIV can be done through a variety of ways, including Guildleves, Levequests, and completing Grand Company Seals. It can also be earned by doing dungeons and Alliance Raids.
